The very first case for brilliant
consulting detective Charles Lennox.
London, May 1850
At just turned 23, young Charles
has decided his field of expertise will be detection, the only problem is that
Scotland Yard’s officers won’t give him the time of day. He is a joke in their
circles. He and his valet Graham spend each morning collecting and collating
newspaper articles and letters to the editor and one stands out. Its writer
claims to have committed the ‘perfect murder’ and because the first one wasn’t
remarked upon to his satisfaction, intends to commit another murder on the
anniversary of the original which is less than a month away.
